chips ahoy
Apple has purchased PA Semiconductor. That’s the company that made the PowerPC chips that were in the heart of the macintosh family back before they shifted to Intel. ‘Venturebeat‘ thinks that Apple may be lining up to build on it’s strength in mobility. That’s mobility with an “i”. Think iPhone, iPod and… what’s next? Could it be back to the future with a new revamped reimagined new improved apple Newton for the iPod generation?
Vint Cerf one of the pioneers of the internet, he helped formulate the TCP / IP protocol tha makes it go, a few years back made his predictions a few years back and mobility was the big one.
By the way, another thing Apple has purchased is a hugely expensive and, well, “huge” banner to mask it’s new Sydney Applestore. You can see it here. I wonder what’s inside. They’ve hooked me!
