    Dear support team

I’m a chinese user and I’ve downloaded the latest Fring and chatted with my friends who uses msn on their desktop. They can see my words clearly, but it still cannot see their typing, the chinese display is still an issue.

I just tried the updated app on DROID. I still have the same problem with SkypeOut calls. It rings the POTS number, they pick up and hear nothing, and I continue to hear a Skype ring on my DROID.

Can not log into my skype account this morning, while other IM work just fine.
Hope it’s just glitch. Or could it be skype blocking out third part client?

I love the idea of Fring, but can’t get SkypeOut working on my Droid. Am I doing something wrong?

The SkypeOut and SIP buttons are always grayed out. I think I’ve added the country code correctly. Here’s an example: 115307566929. I’ve also tried these variations:
    5307566929
    15307566929
    05307566929
    015307566929
    0115307566929

None of these have worked. Help!

Okay, different problem now. I wasn’t logged into Skype in the Fring app, but I’ve done that now. The SkypeOut button is no longer grayed out, but every time I make a call, the call ends prematurely, usually after a ring or two. This is using a 011 prefix before the US number I’m dialing, for example 0115307566929

I have 3G access, and 3 bars of connection, so it’s not a lack of connection problem. Any ideas of what I might be doing wrong?

    I’ve found that this works:

For skypeout calls to the US/Canada, dial 001, area code, phone number

For international calls, dial +, country code, phone number (yes, dialing the + symbol is required.)

    Chinese chat still got problems.
fring send to MSN/Skype is workable now.
But MSN/Skype send back to fring still show incorrect words.
You guys work 50% for Chinese words, keep going!

    Hello,

I try Fring 1.1.0.4 on Hero : no success ! The application starts but waits with “Fring is loading…”

    After a few hours, I stop ;-(

Anybody using Fring on Hero ?

    (WiFi, 3G up & running…)

    Thanks,
    Marc

Skype out asks you to type out the entire number including international code.

Even for US numbers it skypes out only if add 001. Otherwise the call gets terminated.

This is really buggy as the phone contacts are stored only as numbers without the international code

    Hi,
There are a lot of issues with the release.
    1) Large voice delay almost 4 seconds of delay between when I speak and the other person hears me. This is with both Skype and a voip service I am using(sip connection). Siproid another voice client, similar to fring but only for sip on android mobiles has no voice lag.
    2) Disconnection issue with Fring. It auto disconnects after a while.
Lag and disconnection occur on both wifi and 3G

Sometimes hangs on HTC Dream, and there is a big voice lag…waiting for fixes and…why not…video call!

I can confirm Mihirs complains. !!

    1)
LAGE VOICE DELAY, it feels like it adds up..
i mean the longer the call duration is the more delay you´ve got..

(it seems like its using tcp not udp and since it has package loss (well on gprs/edge its common) it resends the dropped packages… and that adds up..
    but thats just guessing)

I got the new fring release to work with Skypeout calls, but only for the contacts I’ve defined in Skype as skypeout contacts. The fring app will attempt to dial any number in my droid contact list, but the ones that are not defined as skypeout contacts just ring forever even though the person on the other end picks up.

    Another thing to note,

    1. audio quality is a little muffled and delayed
    2. Calls get disconnected after about 4 or 5 minutes

I installed Fring on HTC Tatto and I am surprised that I can not send file, change fringe tones, view chat and call history, view profile, change nickname, hide phone address book and everything else that I used on Nokia 6120.
Fring tone on HTC make a terrible noise and I can not find a way to change it.
I hope all those things will be sort out soon….

I agree with #11 Mihir, this long voice delay is a deal breaker as it gets so annoying. You guys are doing a great job, please fix these issues also.

Fring will not load other fring contacts to my contact list on my Droid. It pulls in contacts from Skype just fine. When I do a search for other fringe contacts it finds them, but does not pull them into the contacts list so I can’t make fring to fring calls. Does anyone know what the problem could be?
