fring frees hundreds of mobile phones, welcoming Java ME & Linux fringsters!

At last: almost everyone is fringable!

We’re really excited to release fring for loads of the most popular Sony Ericsson and Nokia phones out there (for those in the know, the ones running on JavaME (J2ME)) We’ve created a special version called minifring for these phones that don’t yet support voice over IP calling. With minifring these users will now be able to communicate with growing community of fringsters worldwide. Also, the great new fring applications which developers around the world are working on will soon be available in the fringAdd-ons catalog for the hundreds of newly supported Java ME devices too!

We also welcome Linux (Nokia N810) users with full fring features including internet calls, chat, presence and more + some unique features. I suspect there’s serious steroids in the water our R&D guys have been drinking…lol.

So pass the word around because with about 1,000 handsets now supported and more on the way, to get fring click here. we’re fringing everywhere!

i couldn’t install fring or minifring on my phone… the saddest part is that my cell is a nokia 6670 and you guys list nokia 6630 and 6680 on the downloads, but not 6670, and the phones are very simillar in tech specs.

At first i thought that the J2ME applet will work on al J2ME enabled phones, including my Motorola K3. But after entering wap.fring.com and accesing the download section, i only see a list of SE and Nokia phones. Even when i’ve tried to download and install it, it says that the aplication is not supported Please develop support for Java enabled Motorola handsets too

Endless thanks to the FringTeam. I just can’t tell you how much it means to me in a country where all SIP ports like 5060 8000 etc are blocked. But fring atleast enables me to connect to the SIP and Skype. I use Vonage and FWD on a Nokia N95. FWD is okay but Vonage is oneway, I can call but others can’t. If you please solve this issue. Tere is no fring for Asus P750
Shame !
Skype have using two speakers ! speaker in back of the phone is for ringing, and speaker over the screen is for calling !
I think, the Skype is much better than this fring.
There is only one thing that fring would be much better: video calling! Even with 1 fps in start. I have processor 520MHz and phone used as camera for PC over WiFi have more than 20 fps with high resolution.
Video calling ! and many people start using yours software !

I have a very cool idea for an addon to go with fring.I have a Nokia N95 and I have Skype and voip cheap.co.uk-both fantastic services brought by fring.One thing missing, there is no call timer on that screen, only on the normal cellphone screen.A call timer is so needed, any chance a small AP could be made available?
