As always, we’d love to hear your feedback.

ps: All you Nokia 5800 users, we haven’t forgotten you…your handsets will be supported in the very near future.

I can’t download this new Symbian 9 V 3.37.16 dated from 12/01/2009 version. I wanted to download V 3.37.16 but instead of this version V 3.36.15 – 17/11/2008 is downloaded. I tried several times but to no avail. Only version 3.36.15 – 17/11/2008 is downloaded. When will V 3.37.16 version be available for downloading?

    Waiting for your soonest reply,
    with best regards

    Hey Carlo,

    Try that:

Go to the messaging application (Nokia one) and change the ‘memory in use’ to the memory card.

Let us know how it goes.

Have been using Fring for a few months now (since version 3.37) on a Nokia N82. NO problems at all with Fring, although Javier has reported problems.
    s/w of N82 = v30.0.019 RM313 Nokia N82 (68.01).
Maybe it’s a phone software issue, Javier??

    Cheers

(NB/ When will Fring enable voice/Fring calls with MSN? Works fine with Skype, but not MSN..)

Hi, I just tried to download Fring to my Nokia 6120, which thinks it is connecte Telstra (I’m in Australia).

The text arrived with the link, but my only options were to “Open link”, which I did by selecting it.

Next message was “Opening via ‘Telstra Interet’” then it tried to connect (??? maybe?). The next message was “Unknown response”.

I am setting up wireless broadband with “Go Talk”, but it is yet to be connected. Is this the problem, or something else?

    Cheers

    Hi Fring developers,

I realize that you are hard at work. Any idea as to when you might have a release for the 5800XM? Please provide any details, as I am debating if I should sell my 5800XM and get a E71. I really do need the support for my biz and personal life.

    Thanks in advance.

Well, I didn’t noticed any differences at all… It still eats a huge amount of memory…too much. Look att Palringo, it only uses about 1 Mb memory, (OK no SIP there, but there is a SIP client in symbian, hard to configure but still). And you still haven’t implemented DTMF (inband) touchtones in SIP, this lack of basic function makes Fring worthless to use to orientate in IVR’s and voicemails. And still yet no option to see and send statusmessages on WLM.

    Hi,

My handset is Nokia N8oie with firmware V5.0719.0.2 dated 24-05-2007 RM-92. I have downloaded fring91.sis file version 3.37.16 dated 08/01/2009 and isntalled. I am connecting through wifi. While using the fring test call, the voice is choppy and discontinuous. When I chat with my skype contacts also the same thing happens. However, my contacts said that they can hear my voice very clearly without the choppiness and discontinuity. When I use the same wifi connection for one of my SIP accounts through my phone’s SIP client, the call quality is good without the choppiness and discontinuity. So, the problem is not with my phone or wifi connection. I suspect the fring. Is there any solution for this?

Can’t get the new version to install via PC suite. Application installer part goes ok, the installation starts but then it hangs up and gives an error message “File cannot be removed”. Ditto if I try to uninstall Fring via remove application on the phone. Fortunately, it didn’t screw up my old version, but still…

When you add support for Gadu-Gadu? You add some region specyfic add-ons like yandex mail, orkut or facebook, but not Gadu-Gadu. I think, that more peoples ask about add it and you give no respond, that you plan to put Gadu-Gadu support to next relases. The same situation when i ask you to add Polish language to Fring… I can translate it. Even i have half translated version be me. Well is vesy sad, that Fring support dont want to cooperate…

I’ve just installed fring on my Nokia 5800 after I’ve reset my phone as suggested in most forum. Fring is a good software but it seems do not have DTMF function as I can’t dial into a call which requires me to do menu selection using DTMF keypad? Especially when I need to use skyout to call US bridge line. Is there a way to overcome this?

Anyway, thanks for extending this great software to Nokia 5800.
