Sebagai satu-satunya operator GSM yang BELUM meluncurkan Tri Indonesia nampaknya melewatkan banyak peluang menangguk untung selama tren BlackBerry 2 tahun terakhir ini. Untungnya akhirnya Tri diketahui akan segera meluncurkan layanan BlackBerry dalam waktu dekat (kemungkinan Januari ini), meskipun belum ada informasi resmi di situsnya.
Tri Indonesia sudah memiliki halaman akses BIS sendiri yang menandakan sudah adanya kerjasama antara Tri Indonesia dan RIM untuk penyediaan layanan ini. Kita tunggu informasi lebih lanjut tentang harga paket kompetitif ataupun bundling ponsel apa saja yang disediakan.
Sebelumnya Tri selalu dikenal sebagai penyedia layanan inovatif yang berkaitan dengan Internet dan sosial media, misalnya SMS ke Facebook ataupun ke Twitter (meskipun bukan resmi, karena SMS resmi Twitter dipegang oleh AXIS resmi sesuai dengan yang ditampilkan di blog.twitter.com).
