Samsung and fring Collaborating on Europes most challenging dance-off yet!

Sunday, July 5th, 2009

For the last month, people from all over Europe have been signing up for a chance to win 10,000 EUR and a date with Swedish pop star September. But this is no easy win. Contestants must attempt to be the last remaining dancer on the floor in a 24 hour dance-off, any interference, chat, call and you are out!

On July 7th, 100 lucky European contestants will get to represent their country in the ultimate dance-off. The Samsung Beat DJ mobile phone will provide the soundtrack for the competition which will test contestants’ endurance to its limit.

For decades we’ve delighted in judging Europe on their singing abilities; now lets see how they dance. Hailed as ‘The Eurovision DANCE contest’, The Last Call will push stamina, unveil bizarre local dance moves, and be the one time you don’t want to be popular.

fring is proud to provide live Twitter updates, from the event, using fring’s Twitter 2.0 Add-on, throughout the dance-off. A live video broadcast and the ongoing Twitter updates will be available for you on fring.com.

Watch the action unfold live, here on fring, July 7th.

fring welcomes the Nokia 5800 to the family

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

fringsters everywhere have been asking for it and we are happy to say the day has arrived that we invite the ever popular totally sexy Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic aka Tube to the fring family.

And before we go any further, a big shout out and thanks to those fringsters who were part of the early access group – your feedback has helped us create a fantastic fringing experience, tailor-made for the 5800’s touch screen capability and cool new features.

As most of you probably already know the 5800 comes with “3.2-inch haptic touch-screen, 3.2-megapixel AF camera with dual-LED flash, VGA front camera, A-GPS, HDSPA, and up to 16GB of storage via microSD” the features are so good that some in the industry have gone as far as calling the 5800 XpressMusic the “iPhone killer“ and looking at the amount of requests we received for support, I’d say they were not that far off.

So what are you still waiting for, go get it quick and as usual please let us know what you think ;-)

Have fun

Introducing Android

Friday, September 26th, 2008

The iPhone 3G has recently been getting a lot of attention in South Africa after it’s much anticipated launch at Vodaworld in Midrand late last night.

Another handset that seems to be getting even more attention than the iPhone 3G in the international market at the moment though is the HTC G1, the first handset to be officially running Google’s android software.

The video below introduces Android and talks about the Gphone.
